New Location - "Crampton's Warehouse": The latest build contains a new location : a 19th century warehouse which has remained disused for unknown reasons despite multiple recent owners. Like the last one, it's another dark location.The build also contains some new types of ghosts, and some minor fixes.. New Build 0.36: The new build contains a tweak of the ghost RNG, although another tweak in the opposite direction may be needed.Some reflective surfaces, especially the appliances in kitchens, have also been improved, along with some other improvements to the graphics. The next update should contain at least one or two new locations, including an old abandoned building and probably at least one outdoor location, suggested by some Youtubers who posted gameplay videos.. New build with important fixes: - Fixed a severe bug that sometimes prevented any entities from spawning after a certain point. - Fixed glitch that seemed to use old rank point levels rather than the new, lower ones. So when you play the game again, you may find yourself suddenly promoted (meaning you should have been promoted before).- Mining tunnel surfaces are now procedural, with mathematically-generated rock veins that look like they extend through the material in three dimensions. Some of the wooden board surfaces are now partly randomized, although others still need to be updated.- Shadow LOD now has smooth transitions rather than instantly popping in.- The "Anomaly Radar" (available at upper ranks) had previously displayed electrical appliances as anomalies (since they emit electromagnetic radiation), which has now been fixed. So that refrigerator no longer shows up as a ghost.- Some other fixes and additions, including a wondrous bit of apparel at the final rank.. New build: The current build should fix additional problems with ghost spawning and similar gameplay issues. Hopefully the next build will finally have one or more new locations.. New build with important bug fixes: The new build fixes several things; the most important of which is a glitch which caused the camera and hand-held objects to gradually shift downwards every time the player went back to the starting menu and then went on another investigation (not sure how many people did that, but it caused significant problems). So that's been fixed.. Major Change and Nearing Early Access Release: The game's name has been changed to just "The Spook Inspectors", as there are now locations outside of the mall itself, such as Green-Eyed Jack's Steakhouse, the Happy Spoon Diner, and many others. In order to continue adding additional locations and other features, the game will be released in Early Access, with a release date within a week or so (hopefully).. Important fix of the ranking information, and a new device: This update fixes a problem in the rank information (the new, lower, requirements weren't being used, and many of the descriptions were munged, and probably had been for some time). That should be fixed now.A new device was also added: a combination EMF meter and temperature gauge (based on the real-life "MelMeter", including its red LED display), available at some of the higher ranks. This device makes things more convenient since both long-range gauges are bundled into a single device (but you still get credit for both EMF and temperature anomalies separately); and it also reduces the total number of inventory items at higher ranks, making inventory more manageable and opening up another slot.There should be an additional new device available either later today or tomorrow.. Major Change: The focus of the game has now been shifted to just the Spook Inspectors portion (which originally was just a percentage of the "levels") and the name has therefore been changed to "Spook Inspectors Investigate Morleyville Mall". The goal is now to work your way up the ranks in the Spook Inspectors Paranormal Society by investigating allegedly haunted locations. Since this is now the sole focus, the number of devices at your disposal will be increased in subsequent builds, probably including devices to detect ghosts with laser grid projectors; display Kinect-style "stick figures" to indicate possible human forms from density data; and record EVPs (electronic voice phenomena).The latest demo also includes a number of bug fixes and minor feature changes.
